Chapter 5: Traditionalism and control

Chapter 5 analyses the areas that were designed to increase the control over the education system and ensure that certain standards and cultural elements were taught and maintained. Many of the issues that are raised in these two chapters are those which were implemented in the early stages of the education reform process.
