Chapter 4: ‘Healthy internationalismE/H1>

Chapter 4 is concerned with the issue of internationalisation, what is meant by the term, in particular taking account of Nakasone’s desire for a form of nationalism, what reforms were included to help ‘internationaliseEthe education system, and what has happened in recent years. It looks at what Nakasone means by the term 'healthy nationalism', how this is a central part of what was meant by 'internalization' in education reform, and the ways in which this has been introduced over the past two decades.
